Studying Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling at New York College offers you a unique opportunity to explore, acquire and critically apply concepts, theories and models used in all three disciplines Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling. This degree offers you the chance to learn about the interaction between these disciplines, gaining an appreciation of the diversity of perspectives involved, along with an understanding of their therapeutic use. A highly specialized, supportive and experienced teaching team will guide you as you develop knowledge of the theories, methods and debates central to the three core elements. We'll support you as you explore psychology, gain specific counselling skills, and consider broader social issues that impact on the roles of psychotherapist and counsellor, such as assumptions, stereotyping, diversity and prejudice. We'll also focus on developing your knowledge and skills in the use of psychological research methods, and your appreciation of the ethical issues involved.

The UK based course is one of only a few Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling degrees in the UK that is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) as conferring eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (the first step towards becoming a Chartered Psychologist in the UK).

Graduates of the NYC Athens based course may apply for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the BPS, via the International Route by individual application.

There is no other programme on the Greek market that includes all 3 areas of study Psychology, Psychotherapy and/ or Counselling.
Applicants with a low level of English can be accepted – into level 3 which is taught in Greek.
