BSc (Hons) in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science)

Candidates for Undergraduate studies should be holders of:

• a High School Leaving Certificate with good performance and the High School Diploma or
• the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or at least six IB Subject Certificates (including at least three at the higher level) with a minimum total of 30 points, or
• A Levels obtained locally

Very good knowledge of the English language certified by:

• IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System)
• Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
• Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
• TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), internet-based test (iBT) and special home edition
• iGCSE English Language

The past decade has seen an explosion of advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. These advancements have come in a time when (and some would argue are because of) we are now producing and storing online information with an exponential growth. This has had a great impact in all aspects of businesses, from trading, to production and industry. The fourth industrial revolution is based on the availability and organisation of information, and in a world where information has become too much to handle, Artificial Intelligence has found fertile ground on which to grow. As a result, AI and Data Science are both in great demand.

Students of this programme are exposed to the theoretical foundations of the Computer Science field, gain an understanding of the principles that underlie development of systems, apply their knowledge on real life projects and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to cope with the astonishing rate of change of the specific discipline, with a main focus on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science techniques and applications.

 As a graduate of this programme you will be working in the cutting edge research area, and in the forefront of the industry as an Artificial Intelligence and Data science expert, able to design and develop learning systems that radically change the way businesses work today.

Furthermore, as a Data analyst, you will be able to identify patterns, analyse trends and suggest solutions to any business that deals with vast amounts of information.

Graduates are awarded the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science).
